Here are a list of what types of services One Globe provides. If you don't see what you need listed here, contact me and we can discuss your project more in-depth. Below, I go deeper into what industries I serve and what I can do to help businesses in these sectors.

Translation is the process of translating words or text from one language into another. This may involve documents, websites, blogs, certificates, books, articles, and much more. I translate from Spanish into English and from French into English

Editing & proofreading

Editing is the process of reviewing both the original document and the translation to ensure  that the meaning was transferred from one to the other. Proofreading is the process of reviewing a monolingual text. A proofreader checks that there are no grammar mistakes and ensures high quality and native-sounding language. I edit and proofread all of my own work and also review other translator's work.

English Editing for Non-natives

If English isn't your first language and you publish content in English often, it is a good idea to have that content reviewed by a native speaker of English. I have extensive knowledge of English grammar and can help you improve your content so that it hits home with English speakers.

Copywriting is creating content from scratch with specifications from the client. This content may be used for marketing materials, websites, articles, etc. and can be created from bilingual or monolingual instructions.

Localization is the process of adapting content so that it will be well received in the target culture where it will be used. Necessary changes may be systems of measurement, such as changing meters to feet for a US context, or adapting the text to reflect underlying values, beliefs or customs of a the target culture.

Transcreation is the process of adapting a message from one language to another, while maintaining its intent, style, tone, and context. Sometimes, translation will not work for some projects and adapting the content to fit with a certain culture works much better!

Marketing, Hospitality & Tourism

Providing translated content in English is indispensable for businesses in the hospitality and tourism realms. Creating marketing materials and content in another language boosts business's visibility and builds their credibility on the international level.

Hotels and

From the booking process, to checking-in, to leaving a review after a stay, translated materials can ensure smooth communication between a hotel and their guests. A hotel's website is the first contact that potential guests will have with the hotel. Therefore, it is pertinent to create a welcoming message to guests that come from all over the world. In addition, signs, brochures, menus, airport shuttle information, welcome guides and much more can help guests feel at ease when staying at your establishment.

Food and Drink Industry

If you were to read "Mediterranean risotto with smallpox" on a sign for a dish at a hotel buffet, you would most likely not want to come back for seconds. This real-life bad translation for a food title is just one of the many reasons why machine translation is not the way to go if you want your business to stand out and maintain a professional tone (and if you want clients to understand you!).

Ensuring a culturally appropriate translated menu and signage can bring new clientele to your business, which in turn can grow your business from a small corner restaurant to a 5-star TripAdvisor-reviewed restaurant with new international clients arriving everyday!

Museums, Tours, Transportation, and much more

Confusing maps, pamphlets that are unreadable, and websites that contain no helpful information can make any tourist run away screaming from attractions that should be pulling them in. We've all visited a fair share of museums, zoos, hiking trails, etc. that almost make you not want to visit because you can't understand the material that they had translated (from machine translation, no doubt) or they didn't have their information translated at all! Creating simple translations of reading materials can make guests feel welcomed and create an experience that they will want to share with their friends. Providing English translations of brochures, signs, and your website is taking that extra step to procure excellent customer service.
